In the past month, a short clip of a young woman saying “hawk tuah” has gone viral. As a men’s rights advocate, I was asked by a fellow men’s rights advocate to write a short article about my thoughts on this.
The first thing I wanted to mention, is the intactivism element. Indeed, I am on a number of intactivist pages on Facebook and it was on these pages that I first learned of the existence of this video. In fact, I mistakenly thought at first—a tad of wishful thinking I suppose—that the statement was pro-intactivism.
The reason this clip appeared on intactivism pages is because using spit as a lubricant is usually unnecessary on intact men. Indeed, one of the MANY benefits of the foreskin is that it creates it own natural lubricant. As a result, the glans of an intact man is quite smooth, as it is supposed to be. This shows yet again one of the many disadvantages of circumcision, which is often rightly called “male genital mutilation”. For the record, it has ZERO advantages. Since this girl was in the Untied States, sadly most of the men she has been with were probably cut. Indeed, if they had all been intact, she probably would not have thought such a thought in the first place!
The second thought I had was that it was actually nice for her to show compassion and understanding towards men and their sexual desires. As a men’s rights advocate, I have seen a number of striking parallels between feminists and traditionalists. This point brings up two of them. First of all, society has always showed a lack of empathy towards males. In this clip, she shows men empathy. Second, both groups can be quite uptight with sexuality, even though human sexuality is beautiful and should be embraced. We as a society need to be more open with sexuality. It was great to see her so willing to discuss something like this so openly. Side note unrelated to men’s rights: I deeply value my Christian faith and while I feel that Christianity has contributed immensely to civilization and indeed is the bedrock of Western Civilization, uptightness with sexuality has been one of its shortcomings.
The third and final thought I had ties into my last point: I have seen a meme floated by those who advocate for traditional society saying “what we think men want (with a picture of her)”, juxtaposed with another picture saying “what men actually want (with a picture of a man with a wife and children)”. I say, men can and should want both. No, that is NOT a reference to adultery, which is absolutely abhorrent! The point is that men can and should want both a wife and family, and a vibrant sex life with said wife. Even though this clip went so viral, so quickly, I am not sure whether her identity has been revealed, but whoever she is, she seems really amazing!

Carl is a professor, a writer, and a world traveler. He was born in the United States in 1977 to a mother from the US and a father from Sweden. His wife is Georgian. As a result, he has citizenship in all three countries, and by extension, the European Union. He has lived in all three of his countries, plus five others. In addition, he has travelled to a total of 120 countries on six continents, including every country in Europe. As for his ethnic background, he is a mixture of a number of different European nationalities, including Swedish, Dutch, German, French, Basque, Spanish, English, Scottish, Manx, Irish, and Welsh.
In addition to travel, Carl’s biggest passions are academics and languages. He has earned four Master’s Degrees and a PhD in subjects such as International Studies, Political Science, and English Philology. He has taught classes in subjects such as English, History, and Political Science at academic levels ranging from junior high school to Master’s degree.
As for languages, he is a strong supporter of trying to save as many of the world’s smaller languages, especially the Celtic ones, as possible. Indeed, he takes an online class every week from the Isle of Man in the Manx language, which is enjoying a notable revival. Carl has studied 27 different European languages in some capacity, though he can’t speak them all. His goal is to learn most of the languages of Europe to at least to B1, or bare minimum A2 level.
Carl has recently transcribed the entire 1917 Swedish Bible into the Runic alphabet, and has written a travel book about Georgia. He has also made the same short travel video about Tbilisi in over 60 languages.
Carl splits his time between his three countries and world travel.
