International Women’s Day is Celebrated by MRA’s as False Case Day

Every year on the 8th of March International Women’s Day is celebrated worldwide whereas International Men’s Day on the 19th of November is neglected. Indian NGOs want to bring the growing concern of false cases and gender-based laws to the lawmakers, which has been even ignored in the upcoming law under the BNS.

The section 69 of the BNS is not in the existing IPC which talks about the provision of punishment for Men who have made a promise to marry a woman and also had consensual sexual relations and then the man refused to marry later. However, if a woman denies then it does not have the provision to punish the woman. As India is westernizing living-in relationships are growing in Indian society. So, the said law will become a threat to men living in live-in relationships.

Changing norms and changing relationships have not been put into consideration in this IPC as today’s consensual sex can be tomorrow’s rape. There can be a breakup due to a fight or any other thing and women can use this law to blackmail and harass innocent men and destroy their life.

MRAs on this issue say “False cases on men and boys have become a growing concern of Indian society. Young men are running to courts to get themselves protected rather than putting their efforts into building the Nation. According to NCRB data which states almost 70 percent rape cases were found false and when we explore the cases, many such cases ended with a settlement.”

These men’s and women’s hard-earned money gets wasted in the courts. On the other hand, the Indian family system is getting destroyed and the institution of marriage in India is coming under threat and men are going for Marriage strikes.
