Horrid Tale

In my travels, upon the internet, I have found stories that at times made me feel, horrid in essence. I shall share this story, and do so with one mistake in the story, think of this as a test, to see if you truly feel empathy or just social outrage.

Let us begin.

A young girl, in the middle east somewhere was about 3-5 years old, her parents took her to get a ritual done, one that was common for boys and girls in her nation-state. A circumcision. The removal of her “Excess Skin” was painful and made the child quite upset, she flipped off the doctor, much to her parent’s disdain, who only wanted the best for her. The doctor got visibly upset and, upon a piece of gauze, returned her cut skin to her, and said. “If you want it so bad, here it is.”

If that didn’t put a knot in the pit of your stomach then something is indeed wrong with you, humans naturally feel empathy for the weak and vulnerable, that of girls and adult women especially. Now in reality that did happen, but to a boy in America. If learning that changed that pitted feeling into one of apathy, then may you enjoy your one-way ticket to hell. For boys deserve just as much empathy, protection, and love, as girls do. Especially if they are young, even more so under 10. I hope viewing this as a crime on boys in a civil land makes you feel just as much anger as you did before, anger is fine in the face of monsters. Those who not only mutilate children but then taunt them with their severed limb is even more damnable. I hope you feel for all children, as we all should.

If this taught you something, then good. I hope whatever you learn makes some sense in these trying times, where hurting children is something doctors do, for a few extra bills. Now I do not blame the parents here, they were all raised on the belief that this horrid practice has some benefit. I can assure you, it does not.
