Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, is a famous singer and performer. She has a lot of hits like “Alejandro”, “Poker Face”, “Judas”, “Telephone”, etc. However, the public doesn´t think or pay attention to her songs and videos; they usually only listen to them on the radio or watch the video online or on the television sets, but don´t analyse the content or the message she sends deeply, stuffed in them, even worse, the audience only repeats or dances on her music as if there is no issue in them in the deep.

To understand whether there is an issue with Gaga´s music, it is necessary to study her and examine her political and ideological positions. Gaga began her career in the late 2000´s. She rejected “Feminism” and showed that in 2009, as she declared, “I’m not a feminist. I hail men! I love men!” But that was only in the speech because we can see in her video “Alejandro” that Gaga is surrounded by athletic men with military cuts, whom she dresses in heels, fishnet stockings, and provocative poses. By introducing feminine and homoerotic elements into the hypermasculine archetype of the soldier, she tries to deconstruct the idea that masculinity and femininity are mutually exclusive; in other words, she attacks masculinity and wants to destroy it.

Gaga shifted her public stance on feminism in 2014 when she admitted to being a feminist, using the usual ideas like protecting women, supporting women´s rights, etc. Since then, she has been supporting all the w*ke ideas, L***, and attacking what is called “Toxic Masculinity”. An example is in 2018, during her participation in the twenty-fifth annual Women in Hollywood event organized by ELLE magazine. On that occasion, Gaga gave a speech that supposedly broke down the intersection between women’s fashion, institutionalized ob*ectification in the film industry, and the active subversion of the male gaze.

Gaga has a huge impact on feminism that even Jack Halberstam, professor of American studies and ethnicity, and gender studies at USC Dornsife, has written a book, Gaga Feminism: S*x, Gender and the End of Normal. Halberstam posits that modern society is witnessing the systemic failure of traditional patriarchal structures that previously dictated human relationships: long-term restrictive marriage, the monogamous couple format, and the traditional family nucleus are collapsing. “Gaga Feminism” urges the population, rather than living through this collapse with pain or conservative nostalgia, to “revel in the new opportunities for relationality, connection, and kinship that are suddenly and surprisingly available.”

However, Gaga has acknowledged the profound influence of Italian Catholic socialization received in her home. She has confessed that patriarchal approval continues to exert a disproportionate weight on her sense of success. Gaga recounted the deep emotional impact of presenting the work to her father. In a frank exposition of her cultural vulnerabilities, she stated: “Making your dad happy is — especially for an Italian Catholic girl — it feels really good. And I feel that today. All the awards in the world, you can get into all the nightclubs, they’ll send you the nicest clothes.” In other words, she still searches for her dad´s approval and support, and her family has traditional values, totally opposite to the woke ideas she stands on public. As I famously say, a dad is a son’s first hero and a daughter’s first love. Her first and permanent love is her father. After that, boys or men come, go, or stay.
